Community Education

From hand washing and oral hygiene in schools and community centers to stroke and cardiovascular disease information for adults, the NorthWest AHEC provides, coordinates and supports numerous health promotion programs within its region. Seminars, workshops and classes are offered throughout the year to increase community awareness of the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.

Programs are conducted in schools, churches, community centers and senior centers. Coordination of health fairs, worksite wellness programs, screenings and more are conducted with various partners including Family Health Centers, Inc. Park DuValle Community Health Centers, Inc. Louisville Metro Department of Health and Wellness, North Central District Health Department and University of Louisville Health Sciences Center.
